Texas Association Of Realtors Convention
I will be attending this week’s Texas Association Of Realtors® Convention and Trade Show. In addition to getting to meet and chat with some of our area’s agents, I will be attending classes in order to make sure I am always on top of the latest in real estate. The classes I will be attending include:
United Texas:Housing Initiatives That Work
Marketing To The Affordable Housing Buyer
Mortgage Lending One-On-One
How “Green” Is Affecting Affordability
Predatory Lending And Mortgage Fraud
I’m especially excited to take the class, How “Green” Is Affecting Affordability, as it is one of my major interests. While I find the recent turn towards “green” living very exciting, I do fear that its cost often forces many people away from it. As it becomes more and more pervasive in this country, I do think the associated costs will come down, whether its the new homes by builders like Imagine Homes or the replacement of older air conditioner units with more energy efficient ones or the use of solar panels to provide electricity (we have so much sunshine here in San Antonio, we should take advantage of it).

Smart move, anyone in an industry should be doing all they can to ensure they are keeping abreast of the issues around that industry and all the hot news and developments.
“As it becomes more and more pervasive in this country, I do think the associated costs will come down…”
You’re probably right. As “green” technology becomes more available and more popular, companies are naturally going to seek cheaper ways to fit the green bill, which eventually means cheaper costs for the consumer.
