It is crazy when someone presumes something will happen and people jump on the bandwagon saying its happening or is going to happen and especially as the internet brings news quicker than ever. News can be created and discredited on the same day which is always a bother but in situations like this when money is involved you need to check official sources after the report to clarify.

Well at least there is someone out there with a clue! Great summary Matt. As we discussed, I find it stunning that some many people, including some of the mainstream media, are saying that the tax credit has been extended.

It hasn't. Period. And it's not until the President signs it.

Will it be extended? Almost certainly. But lots of things can change between now and when it actually is signed into law. I know you remember all the iterations of the $15K credit -- lots said that was a "done deal" too....

REROCKSTAR,

It is obviously saddening to see the lack of understanding of the political process among the public. However, I really believe those who carry most of the blame are the editors of of the on-line journals. They purposely allow these outrageous headlines that basically contradict the text of the article, just to get eyeballs. Now, yes, we should read the article, before spreading the word. But aren't these editors (and their bosses. and their bosses bosses) the ones we should be holding to a higher standard?
