Well written! Thanks for that! :)

Just an anecdote -- I recently went to a local museum where a handful of young photographers were being featured. I was very interested in the photography style of one of them there, so I spent much time contemplating his work. He walked up to me and started a conversation. I was impressed ... that is, until he started blurting out some photography jibberish (at least that's what I assume) -- from his equipment, to the styles he employed, to some techniques in developing. He knew I was not into photography and I'm pretty sure he could notice the confused and irritated look in my face. Yet he would not stop. I would have appreciated it more if he had chosen simpler words.

Thanks for such a comprehensive list. It's true that sometimes, professionals fail to remember that certain professional jargon cannot easily be understood by the majority.

Bill - Thanks. As for your wish for a post about designations and certifications...see the link below. It was written by Austin Smith of Goomzee and reprinted with permission (I had planned on using it and your comment gave me the perfect opportunity to do so).

This was an excellent post. I guess we will need to have something like this to explain all the real estate designations and certifications. Thanks
