San Antonio Camera Phone: Gruene, Texas

Afternoon in Gruene, Texas

Visitors in town.

I had a chance to spend the afternoon in Gruene, Texas today with my wife and a friend of ours who is visiting from England. I love doing little trips like this and while they ducked into the Gruene Antique Company, I took a few snapshots of the main street. Gruene is a quiet little town, full of antiques, unique Texas gifts, and of course the infamous Gruene Hall. If you’re not from there or any of the towns in and around San Antonio, you may not know that the name of the town is actually pronounced “Green.” If you’re ever in our next of the woods, you should definitely swing through Gruene for the afternoon. Be sure to stop by Mozie’s and tell them @rerockstar said hello.

that does look like a sleepy little place, must have been nice to visit there.

It is a great little town. I’m disappointed in your site. No male Yuengling shirts? What I wouldn’t give to have a few of those in my fridge today for Thanksgiving. I grew up in PA, so I miss having Yuengling available to me.

This is a good theme for a blog… on your editorial calender as I see you have the string of camera phone posts. Nice idea and the type thing people buying in your area probably want to know about when they have an “open” weekend.

Fun to have out of town friends pop in who force you to do the little trips. Last month we took a day-trip to Harper’s Ferry WV with some friends and had a great time! Now I need to start a “day-trippers” category too.

Doug – I love adding those simple posts about fun things to do. It’s gets me out and about more often. It also provides my readers with something other than real estate to visit for. If I talk real estate 24 hours a day, I suspect readers would get bored eventually.

I think a lot of real estate bloggers wind up becoming a bit more “local news reporters” than they ever suspected when they first start out. I know I thought I couldn’t go “off topic” but found the more I did, the more people started reading other things and the more my blog became natural and not forced. It definitely helped me find my voice in blogging.

Note from RErockstar: I’m very much anti-spam and delete comments like this everyday. I posted this one for the simple fact that it made me laugh. Read the comment and compare it to the post. Hilarious. It’s incredible that this is what spam has become. I have removed the links to email and website as well as changed the name, otherwise the comment is intact as written.

The crux of your writing while appearing agreeable at first, did not really work very well with me personally after some time. Somewhere throughout the paragraphs you managed to make me a believer but just for a short while. I nevertheless have got a problem with your jumps in logic and you would do nicely to help fill in all those breaks. If you actually can accomplish that, I would surely be fascinated.
