Moving Is Finished, Let The Unpacking Begin

Moving and Unpacking in San Antonio

Whew.

The hard part is over. This weekend we finished the moving and are now concentrating on the unpacking. Neither part is my favorite. I like the adventure of moving but not the process of it. There is always a thrill to a new place. A fresh, clean slate to work with. New layouts and new challenges of storage. A new sense of comfort. All of that comes at a price. Boxes, broken items, trying to find where you put your wireless router, carrying everything up to the third floor, opening each box to realize you’re not ready for that stuff yet…lots to do and figure out.

Both my wife and I are sad about leaving the last house behind, but as I said before, we’re going to make the best of it. So far the new place at Talavera Apartments is quite comfortable and much more roomy than we had thought (we were afraid the living room would seem crowded with our furniture in it). We’ve met a few of the neighbors while unloading the moving truck (provided by the owners of RE/MAX Access, Sheila and Kristin Moran) and all looks good so far. I’ll keep you updated, but now it’s time to get back to some more serious blogging. Looking forward to it!

How is the apartment now?

The apartment has come along quite well. Still have some boxes and a terrible pile in one of the closets that I have to tackle at some point.

The complex is nice and we’ve definitely settled in. The place is roomy, which is really nice – it was one of my fears about moving, that we’d run out of space. Luckily, that hasn’t happened!

There’s a photo of how that room turned out on my “I saw it in San Antonio.” blog.
