Preparing for BlogWorld 2010

BlogWorld and New Media Expo 2010

Preparing my mind, not packing my bags.

As I prepare to head to BlogWorld and New Media Expo 2010 in Las Vegas, I started to think about what I want to come home with. Obviously, as it is Vegas, I’d like to come home with all my money and a lack of photos of me, Elvis, and any strangers in a wedding chapel. Those are rules set in stone. But what is it that I want to get out of BlogWorld?

I love blogging and the feeling I get when I see a post receiving traffic. It means I wrote something that speaks to someone out there. It’s a feeling of self-accomplishment that I guess I miss from my days as a rockstar. Regardless, I also have a higher purpose in writing these posts – education. As a real estate agent, I feel it’s my duty to inform, educate, and occasionally entertain my blog readers. My duty particularly relates to those of you in San Antonio thinking about buying or selling your home and those of you considering a move to the Alamo City.

At times, this duty isn’t as easy as it sounds. Because of the differences in the way people think and react, I may not always answer the questions you came here looking to answer. I might not even cover the topic. There’s an interesting psychology behind blog writing – not only do I have to feel what I write (in order to really blog the way I envision it, I feel I need to be passionate about the subject), but I also need to write what you’re thinking about. Perhaps a bit of ESP would help. As always, you can help. Have a burning question you need answered? Wonder what a particular real estate term means or how it affects the purchase or sale of your home? Your real estate needs are the focus of my business, so it makes sense to reach out to you and ask…what is on your mind?
